Abstract:
Development of Theme-Based Creative Dance for Children Aged (5-6) Years in
Palembang City. At this age, children quickly react and process things that are given to them.
This shows how important it is to develop all the potential of children from an early age, one of
which is art through dance activities because at this age children go through a sensitive period,
namely the maturation of physical and mental functions that are ready to receive stimuli to react
to the environment (Khairi, 2018) . This development research aims to develop and produce
theme-based creative dance products for children aged (5-6) years in Palembang City that are
valid and practical. The research model used in this study is the ADDIE development (Analyze,
Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) with modifications at the evaluation stage, namely
Tessmer with self-evaluation, expert review, one to one, and small group stages. Data collection
techniques using interviews, walkthrough and observation using a checklist. The results showed
that the percentage value of validation by the material validator was 84.37% and the percentage
value of validation by the media validator was 84.09%, an average product validation was
obtained as a whole with a percentage value of 84% with a very valid category, which means that
creative dance is based on the theme is said to be valid which has been reviewed in terms of
indicators and items of material and media assessment. The results of the one to one evaluation
stage involving three children obtained a percentage of 91.67% and the small group evaluation
stage involving five children produced a percentage of 93.3%, from the two stages an average of
92.48% was obtained. very practical category. It can be concluded that theme-based dance
creations are valid and practical for children aged (5-6) years in Palembang City.
