The Effectiveness of Whispering Chain Games on Speaking Ability in Children 5-6
Years of Age. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of playing chain whispering games
on speaking ability in children aged 5-6 years. This study uses a type of quantitative research
with experimental methods with a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest design.
The sample in this study amounted to 30 children aged 5-6 years obtained through simple random
sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by means of documentation and observation
of children. The average pre-test result obtained through observation was 71.23. After the pre-
test was carried out then given treatment with a chain whispering game to train children's
speaking skills, during treatment, an increase was seen from the post-test value which obtained
an average of 88.83. The data analysis used is paired t-test on the results of pre-test and post-test
assessments. Based on the results of the paired t-test test on the pre-test and posttest data, a value
of 0.001 <0.05 was obtained, which indicates that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning
that there is an effectiveness of chain whispering games on speaking ability in children aged 5-6
years.
