The fact shows that female students have a higher level of mathematical creative thinking than male students, both in the learning process and learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the differences in mathematical creative thinking ability of MTs Negeri 7 Malang students in terms of gender perspective. Creative thinking ability consists of several aspects, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study type, involving four students who were selected using purposive sampling technique based on teacher criteria. Data were collected through written tests and interviews to explore mathematical creative thinking skills. The results showed that female students were more detailed in answering questions, more flexible in adopting alternative approaches, and more thorough and systematic in developing answers. Male students tended to show stronger originality skills with unique answers based on personal logic. These findings suggest the importance of a more inclusive and effective learning approach that considers gender differences in creative thinking.
Muhammad Iqbal Rifqy, Ulfa Masamah Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/205 Tue, 14 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 “Apa yang Siswa Pikirkan Tentang Matematika?” Analisis Sentimen pada Siswa Kelas Tinggi Sekolah Dasar https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/225
The purpose of this study was to describe a sentiment model for elementary school students' comments on mathematics. Respondents in this study were 286 elementary school students in seven elementary schools in Bandar Lampung. Sentiment data were obtained through student comments that were collected in May-June 2024. Data analysis used sentiment analysis and mood analysis based on student comment texts carried out using Ekman's Basic Emotions classification. The analysis was carried out through Orange software using Corpus analysis, sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and also tweet profiler. The results of the analysis revealed that: i) the sentiment of elementary school students was dominated by positive sentiment (percentage achievement of 50%), with the three most keywords expressed in students' textual comments about mathematics were "fun", "difficult", "hard"; ii) the sentiment displayed by grade 5 and grade 6 students was dominated by positive sentiment while grade 4 students predominantly caused negative sentiment; and iii) the results of Ekman's Basic Emotions classification showed that "Joy" was the most dominant emotion felt by students in their textual comments about mathematics, while "fear" was the emotion with the least occurrence in students' textual comments about mathematics. The implications of the finding for the model of positive sentiment of elementary school students towards mathematics which can be used as a basis for selecting research interventions and mathematics learning strategies/methods that are more appropriate for elementary school students.
Widyastuti Widyastuti, Dadan Dasari, Sri Hastuti Noer Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/225 Wed, 15 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Terintegrasi Islam Siswa Diskalkulia Berdasar Teori Polya https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/284
Students with dyscalculia often face difficulties in solving mathematical problems, thus requiring an analysis of their problem-solving abilities to understand the barriers at each stage of the problem-solving process. This study aims to analyze the problem-solving abilities of students with dyscalculia in solving Islamic integration problems, based on Polya's theory, which includes four stages: understanding the problem, planning a solution, carrying out the plan, and checking the results. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach and was conducted at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Pasuruan Regency. The subjects of the study were two students with dyscalculia, NS and FA, analyzed through tests, interviews, and documentation. The results show that at the stage of understanding the problem, FA was able to identify relevant information, while NS struggled to recognize the information provided in the Islamic integration problems. Both also had difficulty in planning, identifying strategies, and proposing alternative solutions due to limited number sense. At the implementation stage, both often made calculation and procedural errors. The checking results stage was almost not performed due to difficulty in connecting the final results with the context of the problem. These findings emphasize the importance of developing more specific learning strategies for students with dyscalculia in solving Islamic integration problems, such as visual-based approaches, scaffolding, and more intensive guidance.
Nanda Dila Zahrotul Khumainah, Ulfa Masamah Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/284 Wed, 15 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pengembangan Media Komik Menggunakan Aplikasi Android Kodular Pada Materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel di Kelas X https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/215
This study aims to develop a comic media application of the System of Linear Equations in Three Variables, test the validity and practicality of the System of Linear Equations in Three Variables comic media application for class X students of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) type of development model. Data collection techniques with observation, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques use analysis of the validity and practicality of comic media. The research involved 5 students for small class trials, and 30 students for large class trials The results of the development in the form of media in the form of System of Linear Equations in Three Variables comic media applications. The results of the study obtained an average score of validity of material experts 59 and media experts 76.5 with “Good” criteria. Practicality test with the results of the average score of practicality of small class trials 68.5 and large class trials 65.72 with “Good” criteria. This shows that the System of Linear Equations in Three Variables comic media application meets the valid and practical criteria so that it is considered as an alternative to be used in learning mathematics.
Riza Sawitri, Rusmining, Windi Aprilia Asidik Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/215 Wed, 15 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Matematika Berbantuan Google Sites pada Materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/281
It is important to continue developing digital mathematics learning media. This research was conducted to develop learning media assisted by Google Sites on the material Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables and to analyze the feasibility of this learning media. This research is descriptive research with the research and development method of the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects for this learning media trial were 39 students in class VIII of one of the private junior high schools in Garut Regency. Based on the research results, this media meets the criteria for validity and practicality as a learning media product. This is known from: (1) the validity of learning media, which is based on the results of an assessment of the validity of the media and material, showing valid results with revision, with a material achievement percentage of 92.7% and a media achievement percentage of 83.3%; (2) the practicality of learning media, as assessed from the student response questionnaire, obtained a percentage of 74.25%, indicating results that fall into the practical category.
Melinda Fahriani Arnisya, Irena Puji Luritawaty, Tina Sri Sumartini Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung https://jurnal.pbs.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/jpm/article/view/281 Wed, 15 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700
