The Application of Play Therapy in Improving the Social Interaction of Autistic
Children in ABK Therapy House. Autistic children need supervision and help with daily tasks.
Because the social interactions of autistic children are not the same as other normal children,
autistic children must receive therapy that can improve their social interactions. One of them is
by implementing play therapy. The aim of this research is to determine the application of play
therapy in improving social interaction in autistic children. The method used in this research is
a descriptive qualitative type method. The results of the research found several ways to implement
play therapy to increase social interaction in autistic children. These methods include providing
a comfortable room, providing games, preparing children, and providing rewards. The results of
applying play therapy to children with autism in increasing social interaction show positive
results, where the child begins to be able to follow instructions and answer questions asked to
him and begins to interact with peers and people around him. Providing play therapy helps
autistic children to be able to communicate well socially in their environment and be accepted
and useful for society.
