Abstrak:

Application of Picture Story Books in the Vocabulary Development of Children Aged
5-6 Years in Kindergarten. It is very important to carry out activities to develop children's
language skills as a form of optimizing these abilities.This study aims to determine the application
of using picture story books, the vocabulary development of children aged 5-6 years and to find
out the inhibiting and supporting factors in the application of picture story books in thevocabulary
development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri 03 Tenggarong. This study useda qualitative
case study approach with the subjects of this study namely 2 teachers and 24 childrenaged 5-6 in
group B. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and
documentation. The data analysis used is the Miles and Huberman model which includes thestages
of data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study
indicate that picture story books are applied to opening activities in learning, followedby core
activities, and finally closing activities in learning. In the vocabulary development of children
aged 5-6 years in Tenggarong 03 State Kindergarten, the criteria for developing are very good,
but in its application there are 2 inhibiting factors and getting supporting factors fromTenggarong
03 State Kindergarten.
