ANALISIS TEKNIK PENERJEMAHAN GERUND DALAM ARTIKEL MATERNAL MIGRATION, PRENATAL STRESS AND CHILD AUTISTIC TRAITS KE DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA
Abstract:
Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang penerapan teknik penerjemahan pada gerund yang terdapat dalam artikel ilmiah dalam Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Hal utama yang akan dibahas dalam studi ini adalah terjemahan kalimat serta teknik penerjemahan yang diterapkan pada gerund dalam artikel tersebut. Data yang diambil terdiri dari penggalan teks dalam artikel ilmiah berjudul Maternal Migration, Prenatal Stress, and Child Autistic Traits yang memiliki unsur gerund di dalamnya, yang kemudian diolah dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Digunakan teori delapan belas teknik penerjemahan Molina dan Albir sebagai dasar analisis penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk terjemahan dan teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam menerjemahkan gerund yang terpilih, dengan mempertimbangkan hasil terjemahan yang sesuai, natural, serta konsitensi dari konteks kalimat. Dari hasil analisis, temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik penerjemahan transposisi adalah teknik yang paling sesuai untuk digunakan dalam penerjemahan unsur gerund pada teks artikel ilmiah dibandingkan teknik penerjemahan yang lainnya.
This study examines the application of translation techniques to gerunds found in a scientific article within the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The main topic that will be discussed in this study are the translation of sentences with gerunds in it and the translation techniques applied to the gerunds from the article. The data collected consists of sentences from an article entitled ‘Maternal Migration, Prenatal Stress, and Child Autistic Traits’ which contains gerunds in it, the data then precessed with descriptive qualitative approach. The theory of eighteen translation techniques by Molina and Albir is used as the basis for analysing this study. This study aims to discover the translation and the technique used in translating the selected gerunds, while considering the appropriate, natural, and consistent context in the translation. The findings in this study indicate that transposition is the most suitable translation technique used for translating gerund compared to other translation techniques.
