This study aims to describe the narrative strategies in Titi Setiyoningsih’s short story collection Siasat Perempuan Menjelang Malam from the perspective of Gérard Genette’s narratology. The analysis focuses on five narrative aspects, namely order, duration, frequency, mood, and voice. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a structural approach. The data source is the short story collection Siasat Perempuan Menjelang Malam, while the data consist of words, phrases, sentences, dialogues, and narrative excerpts that indicate narrative strategies. The data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the four analyzed short stories tend to use linear plots with analepsis, while prolepsis appears only in a limited manner. In terms of duration, a slow narrative tempo emphasizes inner conflict and emotional tension, while a faster tempo summarizes past backgrounds. In terms of frequency, singulative narration is dominant, but it is strengthened by repetition and iteration that mark pressure, trauma, or the characters’ beliefs. In terms of mood, the stories are dominated by internal focalization, allowing events to be filtered through the characters’ consciousness. In terms of voice, the narration is constructed through homodiegetic first-person narrators and a second-person narrator. These storytelling strategies collectively build the intensity of the female character's experiences, which are dense and subjective.
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan strategi penceritaan dalam kumpulan cerpen Siasat Perempuan Menjelang Malam karya Titi Setiyoningsih berdasarkan perspektif naratologi Gérard Genette. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada lima aspek naratif, yaitu order, duration, frequency, mood, dan voice. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural. Sumber data berupa kumpulan cerpen Siasat Perempuan Menjelang Malam, sedangkan data meliputi kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog, dan penggalan narasi yang menunjukkan strategi penceritaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik baca dan catat, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empat cerpen yang dianalisis memiliki kecenderungan alur linear dengan analepsis, sedangkan prolepsis muncul terbatas. Pada aspek duration, tempo lambat menegaskan konflik batin dan tekanan emosional, sementara tempo cepat merangkum latar masa lalu. Pada aspek frequency, penceritaan singulatif dominan, tetapi diperkuat repetisi dan iterasi yang menandai tekanan, trauma, atau keyakinan tokoh. Pada aspek mood, cerpen didominasi fokalisasi internal sehingga peristiwa disaring melalui kesadaran tokoh. Pada aspek voice, penceritaan dibangun melalui narator orang pertama homodiegetik dan narator orang kedua. Strategi penceritaan ini secara kolektif membangun intensitas pengalaman tokoh perempuan yang padat dan subjektif.
