DEKONSTRUKSI MAKNA KESUKSESAN DAN KARIER DALAM LAGU “BERDANSALAH, KARIR INI TAK ADA ARTINYA”: ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS
Abstract:
This study aims to examine the construction of success and career meanings in Hindia's song Berdansalah, Karir Ini Tak Ada Artinya using Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis framework. The study employed a qualitative approach with data consisting of song lyrics and audience comments on the official YouTube video. The analysis was conducted through Fairclough's three dimensions: textual analysis, discursive practice, and social practice. The findings reveal that at the textual level, the song critiques neoliberal work culture through diction, metaphors, modality, and repetition that emphasize personal freedom, work-life balance, and psychological well-being. At the level of discursive practice, audiences actively interpret the song as a reflection of work-related experiences, career pressures, and the search for life meaning, resulting in ongoing negotiations of meaning within digital spaces. At the social practice level, the song reflects young people's concerns regarding productivity culture, economically oriented standards of success, and excessive work demands. The study concludes that the song functions not merely as popular music but also as a medium of social criticism that deconstructs dominant narratives of success and offers alternative interpretations centered on individual quality of life.
