EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT DALAM MENANGGULANGI BULLYING DI MTS MAMBAUL HASAN SUMBEREJO PAITON PROBOLINGGO

Abstract:

Bullying merupakan permasalahan yang sering terjadi di sekolah dan berdampak negatif bagi korban maupun pelaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas reward dan punishment dalam menanggulangi bullying di MTS Mambaul Hasan Sumberejo Paiton. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi terhadap kepala sekolah, guru BK, serta siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik Braun & Clarke dan divalidasi melalui triangulasi data.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bullying di sekolah ini terjadi dalam bentuk fisik, verbal, dan psikologis, dengan dampak berupa gangguan emosional, stres, dan penurunan prestasi akademik. Sekolah menerapkan reward berupa pujian dan penghargaan untuk memperkuat perilaku positif, serta punishment melalui konseling wajib dan tugas sosial untuk memberikan efek jera. Penerapan reward dan punishment berkontribusi dalam mengurangi frekuensi bullying, terutama dalam aspek bullying fisik, meskipun bullying verbal masih ditemukan. Tantangan utama dalam implementasi adalah kurangnya evaluasi jangka panjang dan resistensi siswa terhadap punishment. Oleh karena itu, sekolah disarankan untuk mengembangkan sistem pemantauan jangka panjang, meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua, serta memastikan punishment bersifat edukatif agar strategi ini lebih efektif.

Bullying is a common problem in schools and has negative impacts on both victims and perpetrators. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of rewards and punishments in overcoming Bullying at MTS Mambaul Hasan Sumberejo Paiton. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with semi-structured interview methods and observations of the principal, BK teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using Braun & Clarke thematic analysis and validated through data triangulation. The results showed that Bullying in this school occurred in physical, verbal, and psychological forms, with impacts in the form of emotional disturbances, stress, and decreased academic achievement. The school applies rewards in the form of praise and awards to reinforce positive behavior, and punishments through mandatory counseling and social tasks to provide a deterrent effect. The application of rewards and punishments contributes to reducing the frequency of Bullying, especially in the aspect of physical Bullying, although verbal Bullying is still found. The main challenges in implementation are the lack of long-term evaluation and student resistance to punishment. Therefore, schools are advised to develop a long-term monitoring system, increase parental involvement, and ensure that punishment is educational so that this strategy is more effective.
