The journal adheres strictly to recognized publication ethics principles, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), when addressing errors, ethical concerns, or manuscript withdrawals.

1. Corrections

Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in published articles that do not invalidate the main findings or conclusions.

  • Corrections may involve author information, data presentation, linguistic analyses, figures, tables, references, or other relevant content.

  • A formal correction notice will clearly identify the original article and describe the changes made on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

2. Retractions

An article may be retracted when there is reliable evidence of serious ethical or scientific problems, including:

  • Fabrication or falsification of research data, corpus results, or classroom findings.

  • Plagiarism or substantial duplicate publication.

  • Serious methodological errors that invalidate the study's conclusions.

  • Unethical research practices (e.g., failure to obtain informed consent from human participants/students).

  • Manipulation of authorship, citations, or peer review.

  • Other major violations of publication ethics.

Retraction notices will explain the specific reasons for retraction and remain publicly accessible. Retracted articles will ordinarily remain available with clear retraction watermarks/identification to preserve the historical scholarly record.

3. Withdrawal

The withdrawal request must be formally submitted by the corresponding author to the Editor of Jurnal Kata: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pembelajarannya.

Until confirmation is received, the manuscript remains under active consideration and must not be submitted to another journal.

  • Withdrawal After Acceptance: Withdrawal of a manuscript that has already been accepted for publication is strongly discouraged and will only be considered under exceptional circumstances with clear justification. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
