POWER RELATIONS IN SOCIAL INTERACTIONS BETWEEN LECTURERS AND STUDENTS IN FINAL PROJECT SUPERVISION AT ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS COLLEGES

This study explores the dynamics of power relations between lecturers and students during thesis supervision at an Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKI) in Indonesia. Drawing on Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the research analyzes text, discursive practices, and social practices from a series of WhatsApp conversations between students and supervisors. To strengthen the theoretical framework, the study integrates Foucault’s notion of disciplinary power and Bourdieu’s concepts of habitus, capital, and symbolic violence. Data were collected from authentic digital conversations during supervision and analyzed through three stages: reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that lecturers often use directive and concise language to regulate supervision, while students consistently employ politeness strategies such as greetings, apologies, and gratitude. This asymmetrical relationship reflects not only linguistic domination but also the institutional and cultural structures of PTKI, where lecturers hold greater cultural and symbolic capital. Furthermore, symbolic violence is evident as students internalize hierarchical relations and accept inequality as natural. The study concludes that supervision is not merely an academic process but also a site of power reproduction. The implications highlight the need for more dialogic supervisory practices to balance authority and agency, as well as institutional support to ensure democratic communication in academic supervision.

ANALISIS PRAGMATIK TINDAK TUTUR PODHUB DEDDY CORBUZIER EPISODE VIDI, HALDA, DAN LUTFI

This study aims to describe the results of the analysis of illocutionary speech acts found in the podcast hosted by Deddy Corbuzier and Vidi Aldiano with Halda and Lutfi on the Close The Door YouTube channel. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach based on Searle’s theory of illocutionary speech acts. The data consisted of spoken utterances obtained from the podcast episodes. Data collection techniques included observation and note-taking, while data analysis was conducted by identifying, classifying, and describing the types of illocutionary speech acts found in the data. The research results revealed five types of illocutionary speech acts, totaling 1,014 utterances. Assertive speech acts were the most dominant (57.30%), followed by directives (31.46%), expressives (10.55%), declaratives (0.59%), and commissives (0.10%). These findings indicate that interactions were dominated by the direct delivery of information and opinions.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil analisis tindak tutur ilokusi yang terdapat dalam podcast Deddy Corbuzier dan Vidi Aldiano bersama Halda dan Lutfi pada kanal YouTube Close the Door. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan landasan teori tindak tutur ilokusi yang dikemukakan oleh Searle. Data penelitian berupa tuturan lisan yang diperoleh dari tayangan podcast tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik simak dan teknik catat, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasikan, dan mendeskripsikan jenis tindak tutur ilokusi yang ditemukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lima jenis tindak tutur ilokusi dengan total 1.014 tuturan. Tindak tutur asertif menjadi yang paling dominan (57,30%), diikuti direktif (31,46%), ekspresif (10,55%), deklaratif (0,59%), dan komisif (0,10%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa interaksi didominasi oleh penyampaian informasi dan opini secara langsung.

EVOLUSI LEKSIKON DAN NEGOSIASI IDENTITAS DALAM KOMUNIKASI HIBRIDA GENERASI Z: ANALISIS PERSPEKTIF SOSIOLINGUISTIK DI INDONESIA

The phenomenon of digital communication has triggered a radical linguistic transformation in Indonesia, but there is a striking gap between Generation Z's language practices and formal language standards, which often label this phenomenon as language degradation. This study aims to analyze the evolution of the lexicon and identity negotiation mechanisms in Generation Z's hybrid communication through a sociolinguistic perspective. Using descriptive qualitative methods and a digital ethnographic framework, data were collected through purposive sampling techniques from social media text corpuses (TikTok, X, Instagram) and in-depth interviews with Generation Z informants in Indonesia. The results show that lexicon evolution occurs through patterns of "Hybrid Affixation" and "Reduplicative Hybridity," where Indonesian grammatical logic continues to dominate the absorption of foreign terms. Sociolinguistically, this practice is not simply an exchange of information, but an in-group signaling instrument for constructing a modern, critical, and inclusive identity. The findings reveal that Generation Z uses hybrid communication as a "Face Navigation" (Facework) strategy to bridge the fluid private space and rigid institutional spaces.   Fenomena komunikasi digital telah memicu transformasi linguistik radikal di Indonesia, namun terdapat kesenjangan yang mencolok antara praktik berbahasa Generasi Z dengan standar bahasa formal yang sering kali melabeli fenomena ini sebagai degradasi bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis evolusi leksikon dan mekanisme negosiasi identitas dalam komunikasi hibrida Generasi Z melalui perspektif sosiolinguistik. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan kerangka etnografi digital, data dikumpulkan melalui teknik purposive sampling dari korpus teks media sosial (TikTok, X, Instagram) serta wawancara mendalam terhadap informan Generasi Z di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa evolusi leksikon terjadi melalui pola “Afiksasi Hibrida” dan “Hibriditas Reduplikatif”, di mana logika gramatikal bahasa Indonesia tetap mendominasi penyerapan istilah asing. Secara sosiolinguistik, praktik ini bukan sekadar pertukaran informasi, melainkan instrumen in-group signaling untuk mengonstruksi identitas yang modern, kritis, dan inklusif. Temuan mengungkap bahwa Generasi Z menggunakan komunikasi hibrida sebagai strategi “Navigasi Wajah” (Facework) untuk menjembatani ruang privat yang cair dan ruang institusional yang kaku.

HUMOR DALAM POSTINGAN INSTAGRAM @DAGELAN EDISI FEBRUARI 2025 DAN IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA DI SMA

This study is motivated by the phenomenon of using Instagram as a medium for conveying humor that not only serves as entertainment, but also contains social messages. The humorous content on the Instagram account @dagelan in the February 2025 edition has the potential to be used as teaching material in teaching anecdotal texts because it contains absurdity, criticism, and social reflection that are in line with the characteristics of anecdotes. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic approach to analyze the types of humor, humor techniques, and meaning construction. Data in the form of verbal and nonverbal elements were collected through documentation, observation, and note-taking techniques. The results show that there are three types of humor, namely verbal, written, and body language humor, with irony and exaggeration as the dominant techniques. Semiotic analysis reveals that humor builds social criticism that has the potential to be used as a stimulus for learning to write anecdotal texts in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum for grade X.   Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena penggunaan media sosial Instagram sebagai sarana penyampaian humor yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga mengandung pesan sosial. Konten humor pada akun Instagram @dagelan edisi Februari 2025 berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran teks anekdot karena memuat kejanggalan, kritik, dan refleksi sosial yang sesuai dengan karakteristik anekdot. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika untuk menganalisis jenis humor, teknik humor, dan konstruksi makna. Data berupa unsur verbal dan nonverbal dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi, simak, dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya tiga jenis humor, yaitu humor lisan, tulisan, dan gerakan tubuh, dengan teknik ironi dan melebih-lebihkan sebagai teknik yang dominan. Analisis semiotika mengungkap bahwa humor membangun kritik sosial yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai stimulus pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka kelas X.

THE COMPARISON CLASS AVERAGE OF TWO GENERATIONS OF NURSING STUDENTS AT MOLUCCAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA

This paper presents an analysis of the class average scores of Class A from two cohorts (2023 and 2024). Each cohort consists of four classes, namely A, B, C, and D. However, this study focuses only on Class A.The selection of Class A is based on data indicating a significant increase in the class average score. To ensure the credibility of the data, the researcher uses class average data from both cohorts. Therefore, a comparative analysis is conducted between the 2023 and 2024 cohorts.The findings of this study reveal that several factors influence the class average scores of the two cohorts, particularly in Class A of nursing students at Moluccas Christian University of Indonesia. In conclusion, Class A of the 2024 cohort achieved a higher class average score than that of the 2023 cohort.    Penelitian ini membahas sebuah fakta tentang Nilai Rata Rata Kelas A dari 2 Angkatan, yaitu Angkatan 2023 dan 2024. Angkatan ini terdiri dari 4 kelas, yaitu kelas A, B, C, dan D. Tetapi penulis memilih menganalisa hanya satu kelas, yaitu kelas A. Karena nilai rata rata kelas pada kelas A Angkatan 2024 menunjukkan sebuah peningkatan yang signifikan. Untuk mencapai kredibilitas data penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Data Nilai Rata Rata Kelas dari dua angkatan. Akhirnya, melalui makalah ini kita dapat membuktikan adanya beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi rata rata kelas dari dua angkatan, khususnya di kelas A pada mahasiswa keperawatan di Universitas Kristen Indonesia Maluku. Ringkasnya, kami dapat menyimpulkan bahwa kelas A Angkatan 2024 telah mencapai nilai rata rata kelas yang lebih tinggi dari pada rata rata nilai kelas A Angkatan 2023.

KONSTRUKSI GENDER DALAM WACANA PUBLIK DAN KEAGAMAAN: ANALISIS DINAMIKA PARTISIPASI PEREMPUAN DALAM RUANG DISKURSUS ISLAM KONTEMPORER

This study examines the relationship between gender and public-religious discourse in contemporary Islamic contexts, focusing on women's participation dynamics in religious public spaces. The research aims to analyze how gender constructions influence women's access to and participation in religious discourse, identify barriers and opportunities for women in public-religious spaces, and evaluate the transformation of gender roles in contemporary Islamic discourse. Using qualitative methods with phenomenological approaches, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 30 religious leaders, academics, and female activists, complemented by discourse analysis of religious texts and media representations. The findings reveal that despite progressive interpretations of Islamic teachings regarding gender equality, structural and cultural barriers continue to limit women's full participation in religious public discourse. However, there is a growing trend of women's empowerment through reinterpretation of religious texts and the emergence of female religious authorities. The study concludes that gender construction in public-religious discourse is undergoing significant transformation, with women increasingly claiming their space in religious public spheres while navigating traditional gender expectations.   Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara gender dan wacana publik-keagamaan dalam konteks Islam kontemporer, dengan fokus pada dinamika partisipasi perempuan dalam ruang publik keagamaan. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis bagaimana konstruksi gender mempengaruhi akses dan partisipasi perempuan dalam wacana keagamaan, mengidentifikasi hambatan dan peluang bagi perempuan dalam ruang publik-keagamaan, serta mengevaluasi transformasi peran gender dalam diskursus Islam kontemporer. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 30 tokoh agama, akademisi, dan aktivis perempuan, dilengkapi dengan analisis wacana terhadap teks-teks keagamaan dan representasi media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat interpretasi progresif terhadap ajaran Islam mengenai kesetaraan gender, hambatan struktural dan kultural masih membatasi partisipasi penuh perempuan dalam wacana publik keagamaan. Namun, terdapat tren peningkatan pemberdayaan perempuan melalui reinterpretasi teks-teks keagamaan dan munculnya otoritas keagamaan perempuan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konstruksi gender dalam wacana publik-keagamaan mengalami transformasi signifikan, dengan perempuan semakin mengklaim ruang mereka dalam ranah publik keagamaan sambil menavigasi ekspektasi gender tradisional.

IKLAN LAYANAN MASYARAKAT PADA AKUN INSTAGRAM PEMKOT SEMARANG: ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS MODEL TEUN A.VAN DIJK

This research aims to describe the discourse structure in Public Service Advertisements on the Semarang City Government Instagram account using Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model. This research can be used as a means of training students' critical thinking skills in responding to news or messages on social media. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with observational data analysis techniques and documentation as well as data using a matching method based on three dimensions: text (macro structure, superstructure, micro structure), context, social cognition. The research results describe that public service advertisements on the Semarang City Government's Instagram carry the main theme of public information, education, appeals which are produced or packaged visually with attractive and communicative graphics. There is a harmony between macro structure, superstructure and micro structure that supports the effectiveness of information performance. Context in Public Service Advertisements is a form of government concern for actual issues developing in society, while social cognition is part of the presuppositions and representations of social values that can build public awareness. This research emphasizes that the role of social media can be a strategic means of public communication so as to form public awareness in a critical and participatory manner   Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa peran media sosial dapat menjadi sarana komunikasi publik yang strategis sehingga membentuk kesadaran masyarakat secara kritis dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur wacana dalam Iklan Layanan Masyarakat pada akun Instagram Pemkot Semarang dengan model analisis wacana kritis Teun A. van Dijk. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai sarana melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis pelajar dalam menanggapi berita atau pesan di media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data simak catat dan dokumentasi serta analisis data dengan metode padan berdasarkan tiga dimensi: teks (struktur makro, superstruktur, struktur mikro), konteks, kognisi sosial. Hasil penelitian mendeskripsikan bahwa Iklan Layanan Masyarakat pada Instagram Pemkot Semarang mengandung tema utama berupa informasi publik, edukasi, imbauan yang diproduksi atau dikemas secara visual dengan grafis yang menarik dan komunikatif. Terdapat kepaduan antara struktur makro, superstruktur, struktur mikro yang mendukung efektivitas penyampaian informasi. Konteks dalam Iklan Layanan Masyarakat merupakan bentuk kepedulian pemerintah kepada isu-isu aktual yang berkembang di masyarakat, sedangkan kognisi sosial bagian dari praanggapan dan representasi nilai sosial yang dapat membangun kesadaran masyarakat.

KONSELING ISLAMI DAN KEDISIPLINAN SANTRI: POTRET PERAN GURU DI MADRASAH DINIYAH PONDOK PESANTREN DARUL ISHLAH

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena degradasi kedisiplinan pada santri remaja di lingkungan pesantren, di mana tercatat sekitar 30% santri kelas 3 Ula di Madrasah Diniyah Pondok Pesantren Darul Ishlah menunjukkan tingkat kepatuhan yang rendah terhadap tata tertib. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling Islami (BKI) serta dampaknya terhadap transformasi kedisiplinan santri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan fitrah dan sa’dah mutawazinah yang disinergikan dengan metode keteladanan (uswah hasanah) dan komunikasi personal yang humanis berhasil menurunkan angka pelanggaran disiplin secara signifikan. Selain itu, tercipta transformasi perilaku berupa peningkatan keterbukaan emosional dan kemandirian santri dalam mengelola konflik. Meskipun terdapat hambatan berupa keterbatasan tenaga ahli profesional, pola kemitraan antara pengasuh dan bagian keamanan terbukti menjadi instrumen vital dalam keberhasilan bimbingan. Merekomendasikan pihak pesantren untuk melakukan standardisasi kompetensi konseling bagi guru mad rasah diniyah dan sinkronisasi jadwal antara kegiatan sekolah formal dengan kegiatan kepesantrenan guna menjaga stabilitas fisik dan mental santri.   This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining discipline among adolescent students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Approximately 30% of third-grade students at the Madrasah Diniyah (Islamic Boarding School) Darul Ishlah Islamic Boarding School demonstrate low levels of compliance with regulations. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) services and its impact on transforming student discipline. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the use of the fitrah (natural) and sa'dah mutawazinah (religious) approaches, combined with the exemplary (uswah hasanah) method and humanistic personal communication, significantly reduced the number of disciplinary violations. Furthermore, behavioral transformation resulted in increased emotional openness and increased student independence in managing conflict. Despite the limited availability of professional experts, the partnership between the guidance counselors and the security department proved to be a vital instrument for successful guidance. Recommend that Islamic boarding schools standardize counseling competencies for madrasah diniyah teachers and synchronize the schedules of formal school activities with Islamic boarding school activities to maintain the physical and mental well-being of students.

ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE PARA PEDAGANG ETNIS ARAB DI PURWOKERTO BANYUMAS 2026

Arab ethnic traders have long occupied various areas in Purwokerto. This Arab community was born and developed through the acculturation of descendants from Hadramaut, Yemen. In daily communication, the Arab community uses Arabic, Indonesian, and Javanese, especially in trade. This study looks into how Arab traders from the Arab ethnic group in Purwokerto, Banyumas use and mix different language codes when they speak. The approach taken is a descriptive qualitative method that looks at language from a sociolinguistic viewpoint. Data were collected using participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and recording conversations at six different trading sites. The study shows that Arab traders who are from ethnic groups use code-switching between different languages, like Indonesian, Javanese Ngapak, and Arabic. They also switch between different levels of the Javanese language, such as from Ngoko to Krama, as ways to communicate better depending on the situation they are in. Code mixing is also common, especially when people add Arabic words into their Indonesian or Javanese sentences. These language features help in: (1) meeting the communication needs of local buyers, (2) assisting in discussions and convincing others during business talks, (3) showing cultural and religious background, and (4) adjusting to life in a place with many different ethnic groups. This study finds that the different ways Arab traders speak show their ability to use many languages and manage their identity in a constantly changing language environment.   Pedagang etnis Arab sudah lama tinggal dan menetap di wilayah Purwokerto. Komunitas Arab ini lahir dan tumbuh dari akulturasi keturunan Hadramaut, Yaman. Dalam komunikasi sehari-hari komunitas Arab menggunakan bahasa Arab, bahasa Indonesia, dan bahasa Jawa terutama dalam perdagangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pedagang etnis Arab di Purwokerto, Banyumas menggunakan serta menggabungkan berbagai kode bahasa dalam berbicara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan sosiolinguistik. Data didapat dengan mengamati partisipan, melakukan wawancara yang terstruktur, dan mencatat percakapan di enam tempat perdagangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pedagang etnis Arab menggunakan cara mengubah bahasa antar budaya, seperti dari bahasa Indonesia, Jawa Ngapak, dan Arab, serta mengubah cara berbicara dalam bahasa Jawa sendiri, yaitu peralihan dari Bahasa Ngoko ke Bahasa Krama, sebagai cara berkomunikasi yang bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan situasi. Campur kode juga banyak terjadi, terutama dalam bentuk memasukkan kata-kata Arab ke dalam percakapan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia atau Jawa. Fenomena ini berperan sebagai: (1) cara untuk memenuhi kebutuhan komunikasi pembeli lokal, (2) alat untuk bernegoisasi dan meyakinkan pihak lain dalam proses transaksi, (3) tanda dari identitas budaya dan agama, serta (4) bentuk penyesuaian diri dalam lingkungan yang terdiri dari berbagai kelompok etnis. Implikasi penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan pelestarian bahasa Banyumasan sebagai identitas daerah, sekaligus memperluas wawasan mengenai praktik penggunaan bahasa lokal dalam interaksi sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat multietnis.

FUNGSI GUGUS LEKSIKAL DALAM SINIAR CURHAT BANG DENNY SUMARGO

This study aims to describe the forms, patterns, and functions of lexical bundles that appear in the podcast Curhat Bang Denny Sumargo as a representation of Indonesian vernacular language in digital communication. Lexical bundles are understood as recurrent word sequences that help maintain discourse fluency and signal speakers’ attitudes, emotions, and social relations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study builds a corpus of approximately 45,000 words derived from transcriptions of several podcast episodes. The analysis employs lexical clustering techniques based on frequency, range, and co-occurrence patterns, which are then interpreted through pragmatic and sociolinguistic frameworks. The findings show that the podcast discourse is dominated by repetitive bundles such as “terus terus terus terus,” negation bundles such as “enggak ada enggak ada,” as well as mitigative and affective bundles such as “ya enggak apa-apa” and “kalau enggak salah.” These patterns function as strategies to maintain narrative flow, reinforce emotional expression, build interpersonal closeness, and negotiate speakers’ stances. The study highlights that podcasts, as contemporary oral communication media, exhibit characteristics of vernacular language that are spontaneous, expressive, and socially relational. The analysis of lexical bundles in the podcast also illustrates how communicative identity is shaped through distinctive lexical choices that emerge within the digital conversational culture of urban Indonesian society.   Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk, pola, serta fungsi gugus leksikal (lexical bundles) yang muncul dalam siniar Curhat Bang Denny Sumargo sebagai representasi bahasa Indonesia vernakular dalam komunikasi digital. Gugus leksikal dipahami sebagai rangkaian kata berulang yang berperan menjaga kelancaran wacana serta menandai sikap, emosi, dan relasi sosial penutur. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini membangun korpus berisi ±45.000 kata hasil transkripsi beberapa episode siniar. Analisis dilakukan melalui teknik lexical clustering menggunakan kriteria frekuensi, sebaran, serta pola ko-okurensi, yang kemudian ditafsirkan secara pragmatik dan sosiolinguistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tuturan dalam siniar didominasi gugus repetitif seperti “terus terus terus terus,” gugus negasi seperti “enggak ada enggak ada,” serta gugus mitigatif dan afektif seperti “ya enggak apa-apa” dan “kalau enggak salah.” Pola tersebut berfungsi sebagai strategi menjaga kelancaran narasi, memperkuat ekspresi emosional, membangun kedekatan interpersonal, serta menegosiasi sikap penutur. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa siniar sebagai media komunikasi lisan kontemporer menampilkan karakteristik bahasa vernakular yang spontan, ekspresif, dan berorientasi pada relasi sosial. Analisis gugus leksikal dalam siniar juga memperlihatkan bagaimana identitas komunikatif dibentuk melalui pilihan leksikal khas yang berkembang dalam budaya percakapan digital masyarakat urban Indonesia.
