Pelatihan Public Speaking dalam Bahasa Indonesia bagi para Siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Manggis
Abstrak:
This community service aims at improving knowledge and public speaking skill in Indonesian at SMK Negeri 1 Manggis. Through a combination of training methods, such as theoretical presentation, simulation and feedback, it is expected to assist the students enhance their comprehension and public speaking skill. The evaluation model
of this training uses the Kirkpatrick evaluation model which consists of three aspects namely reaction, learning, and behaviour. The evaluation results show a significant increase in students’ knowledge and public speaking skill. The average post-test score increased by 25 points compared to the pre-test, indicating an increase in the students’
comprehension and skill. In addition, the behavioral evaluation shows that the students were capable in implementing all the theories obtained in real contexts, both in and outside the classroom. Considering the aspect of the level of satisfaction with the implementation of the training (material, facilitator, and facility), more than 85% of the students gave a positive assessment. Overall, this training makes a positive contribution to the development of the students’ communication skills, and it is recommended to be held through consistent and continuous practice and mentoring.
