PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN COOPERATIVE THINK PAIR SHARE DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TEKS PIDATO PERSUASIF DI SMP

Speaking is one aspect of productive language skills, meaning a person's ability to convey ideas, thoughts or feelings in the speaker's mind. Language skills include four aspects, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The purpose of this study was to improve students' speaking skills through the use of the Cooperative Think Pair Share learning model in learning Persuasive Speech Texts for class IX-A at SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Cooperative Think Pair Share learning model. The research instruments were in the form of test results, observation sheets, field notes and documentation. The research procedure was carried out in two cycles consisting of four elements of implementation: 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation and 4) reflection. Based on the results of the test results that had been carried out by researchers in class IX-A, in cycle I the lowest score was 35 and the highest score was 71 with a classical completion percentage of 21%. Cycle II the lowest score was 64 and the highest score was 96 with a classical completion percentage of 95%, having achieved the predetermined target of 80%. The results of the researcher's observations in cycle I, the first meeting 40%, the second meeting 73.33%. The results of the researcher's observations in cycle II, the first meeting 86.66%, the second meeting 100%. The results of the student observation sheet in cycle I, the first meeting 34.20%, the second meeting 61.73%. The results of the student observation sheet in cycle II, the first meeting 86.08%, the second meeting 96.23%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: 1) using the Cooperative Think Pair Share learning model can improve students' speaking skills in learning persuasive speech texts in class IX-A of SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara; 2) the application of the Cooperative Think Pair Share learning model in learning persuasive speech texts can provide enthusiasm and motivation to students in the learning process so that students are more courageous and skilled in speaking.
Berbicara merupakan salah satu aspek keterampilan berbahasa yang bersifat produktif, artinya suatu kemampuan seseorang yang menyampaikan gagasan, pikiran atau perasaan yang ada dalam pikiran pembicara. Keterampilan berbahasa mencakup empat aspek yaitu keterampilan menyimak, berbicara, membaca dan menulis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran Cooperative Think Pair Share dalam pembelajaran Teks Pidato Persuasif kelas IX-A di SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Think Pair Share. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa hasil tes, lembar observasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Prosedur penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang terdiri dari empat unsur pelaksanaan 1) perencanaan, 2) tindakan, 3) observasi dan 4) refleksi. Berdasarkan Hasil penelitian hasil tes yang telah dilaksanakan peneliti di kelas IX-A, pada siklus I nilai terendah 35 dan nilai tertinggi 71 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal 21%. Siklus II nilai terendah 64 dan nilai tertinggi 96 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal 95%, telah mencapai target yang telah ditentukan 80%. Hasil observasi peneliti siklus I pertemuan pertama 40% pertemuan kedua 73,33%. Hasil observasi peneliti siklus II pertemuan pertama 86,66% pertemuan kedua 100%. Hasil lembar observasi siswa siklus I pertemuan pertama 34,20% pertemuan kedua 61,73%. Hasil lembar observasi siswa siklus II pertemuan pertama 86,08%, pertemuan kedua 96,23%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam pembelajaran teks pidato persuasif di kela IX-A SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara; 2) penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Think Pair Share dalam pembelajaran teks pidato persuasif dapat memberikan semangat dan motivasi kepada siswa dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga siswa lebih berani dan terampil berbicara.
