Screening Plagiarism

Plagiarism Screening Policy

Jurnal Tiyuh Lampung is fully committed to upholding academic integrity and publication ethics. Originality is a fundamental requirement for every manuscript submitted.

1. Screening Objectives

Content similarity (plagiarism) checks are carried out to:

  1. Ensure that every published manuscript is the original work of the author(s).

  2. Prevent practices of self-plagiarism and plagiarism from other sources.

  3. Maintain the highest ethical standards in scientific publishing.

2. Procedure and Tool

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Punyimbang will undergo a similarity check using the Turnitin software at the pre-peer review stage.

3. Tolerance Threshold (Similarity Index)

Jurnal Punyimbang sets the following similarity threshold policy:

Similarity Percentage (Similarity Index) Editorial Decision
0% - 25% Proceed to Review. The manuscript is considered to have reasonable similarity and is forwarded to the peer-review stage.
Above 25% Mandatory Revision or Rejection. The manuscript will be returned to the author(s) for substantial paraphrasing (rewriting). If the similarity percentage is excessively high (e.g., above 40% or dominated by a single source), the manuscript may be subject to immediate rejection.

4. Important Considerations

  • Exclusions: Similarity percentages appearing in the References/Bibliography, correctly formatted quotes, and general titles/templates will be disregarded in the total assessment. The Editor will manually review the Turnitin report to ensure fairness.

  • Author Responsibility: Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that all sources used are properly cited and referenced according to the journal's specified citation style.

  • Report Request: Authors may request a copy of the Turnitin screening report after the editorial process is complete.
