Publication Fees and Policies for the Journal of Adaptive Education (JoAEdu)

The Journal of Adaptive Education (JoAEdu) is committed to maintaining an Open Access publishing model, ensuring that all peer-reviewed research articles are freely and permanently accessible to the global academic community. To sustain this mission and cover the operational expenses associated with manuscript processing, editorial management, production, and digital dissemination, the journal applies the following publication fee structure:

1. Manuscript Submission Fee
There is no charge for submitting a manuscript to the journal. The initial submission and editorial screening processes are provided free of charge to all authors.

2. Article Processing Charge (APC)
Following the acceptance of a manuscript for publication, the corresponding author or their sponsoring institution or funding agency will be required to settle an Article Processing Charge (APC). This fee is essential to support the comprehensive services we provide throughout the publication lifecycle.

The APC rates are as follows:

  1. Indonesian Authors: IDR 1.000.000,_
  2. International Authors: USD 62,_

This charge directly contributes to the following services:

  1. Assignment and registration of a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for each published article.
  2. Rigorous similarity screening and plagiarism prevention using Turnitin software.
  3. Professional copyediting, typesetting, layout design, and final production of the article.
  4. Ongoing maintenance of the journal's online server, long-term digital archiving, and data preservation.

Notes:*
Authors may submit a formal request for a partial waiver of the Article Processing Charge (APC), with a maximum reduction of up to 90% of the total fee. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. The manuscript must have successfully passed the single-blind review process and received a formal acceptance decision from the Editorial Board, with at least a "minor revisions" recommendation.
  2. The corresponding author must provide official documentation demonstrating financial hardship or insufficient institutional or governmental research funding, accompanied by a formal letter of declaration signed by the author's institutional head or authorised officer.
  3. The waiver request must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission or, at the latest, upon notification of acceptance. Retroactive requests submitted after the APC invoice has been issued will not be considered.
  4. The manuscript must demonstrate outstanding academic quality, as evidenced by at least two independent reviewers who recommend acceptance based on originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigour, and significance to the field of adaptive education.
  5. The waiver is granted only once per corresponding author within any two-year period, to ensure equitable access and fairness across the author community.
  6. The final decision regarding the approval or rejection of any waiver request rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief, whose determination is final and not subject to appeal. Priority will be given to early-career researchers, postgraduate students, and authors from developing countries or underfunded institutions, provided that the scholarly merit of the manuscript is exceptionally high.
