PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PRODUK REKAYASA KETEKNIKAN BERBASIS DIGITAL DALAM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH RAMAH LINGKUNGAN MENGGUNAKAN TABUNG PEMBAKARAN DARI OLI BEKAS

Published: Sep 26, 2026

Abstract:

Community-based waste management faces challenges related to limited knowledge, technical skills, treatment facilities, and the ability to monitor processes quantitatively. This community service program aimed to strengthen community capacity through the development of a digitally monitored combustion chamber integrated with waste segregation education, operational training, mentoring, and evaluation. The program involved 30 participants. Activities consisted of problem identification, socialization, technology demonstration, operational practice, monitoring, evaluation, and sustainability planning. Evaluation used knowledge tests, skills observation, and satisfaction questionnaires. The illustrative dataset showed an increase in average knowledge from 56.7 to 87.3, operational skills from 48.5 to 84.6, digital monitoring literacy from 41.8 to 82.7, and safety understanding from 61.2 to 91.3. Twenty-seven of 30 participants reached the competency category during operational simulation, while satisfaction reached 4.48 on a five-point scale. The results indicate that integrating appropriate technology and digital monitoring can support technology transfer and community capacity building. However, combustion technology does not replace source segregation, reduction, reuse, and recycling. Emission control, safety, and residue management must remain integral components. Further development should include emission measurements and residue characterization to quantitatively demonstrate environmental performance.
