Manuscript Submission Flow
Authors wishing to submit a manuscript must consider the following points. The manuscript will be returned to the author if it does not meet the requirements.
- Manuscripts or articles have never been published before and are not in the process of being considered for publication in other journals;
- Manuscript files in Microsoft Word;
- Manuscripts are by the Journal of Advances in Physics Education (JAPE) Template;
- Create an account as an author;
- Authors submit articles;
- Editors receive articles from authors and conduct peer review;
- Articles that meet the requirements by the policies of the journal manager will be examined and assessed for eligibility by reviewers;
- Manuscript articles that have gone through the assessment stage by reviewers will be forwarded to authors for improvement;
- Articles that the suggestions of reviewers have improved will be published.
Focus and Scope
Journal of Advances in Physics Education (JAPE) is a scientific journal that publishes research articles, theoretical studies, and innovative practices in physics education. (JAPE) is published by the Master of Physics Education Study Programme, Department of MIPA Education, FKIP, University of Lampung (UNILA). The focus of this journal is to provide a platform for physics education researchers, educators, and practitioners to share empirical findings, practical experiences, and innovative ideas..
1. Physics Teaching Methodology:
- Development of new learning models, strategies or approaches in teaching physics concepts.
- A comparative study of the effectiveness of traditional vs modern teaching methods.
2. Use of Technology in Physics Education:
- Development and evaluation of technology-based media such as simulation, augmented reality (AR), or virtual reality (VR).
- Application of digital technology in experiment-based physics learning.
3. Assessment and Evaluation in Physics Education:
- Innovations in student ability assessment methods, including project-based and formative assessments.
- Development of measurement tools to assess mastery of physics concepts.
4. Physics Teacher Education:
- Training and professional development of physics teachers.
- Research on physics pedagogy in teacher education programmes.
5. Conceptualisation and Understanding of Physics:
- The study of students’ difficulties in understanding certain concepts in physics.
- Interventions to address misconceptions in physics learning.
6. Interdisciplinary Studies in Physics Education:
- The relationship between physics and other disciplines in the context of learning.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration for physics curriculum development.
7. Pure Physics Research and its Implications for Education:
- In-depth study in Experimental Physics to test the theories and laws of physics.
- Pure physics research can be adapted into teaching materials or physics learning modules at various levels of education.
JAPE welcomes articles in various forms, including quantitative and qualitative research articles, systematic literature reviews, case studies, and reports of innovative practices in physics education.
Proses Peer Review
The journal editor conducts the initial review process and provides feedback on all articles to be reviewed. This feedback includes the suitability of the journal’s focus and scope, the level of similarity, and conformity to the journal template. If the article does not meet the requirements, it will be immediately returned to the author.
After passing the initial review stage, the manuscript will be sent to 2 reviewers using the single-masked peer review policy. The editor will inform the author about the peer reviewer results no later than 14 days after submitting the paper. All reviewer correction results are sent to the corresponding email in the article manuscript.
Confidentiality
The manuscript of a reviewed article is a confidential document. Authors do not know the reviewers of their manuscripts, but reviewers know the authors of the manuscripts or articles. Editors and editorial staff should not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewers, and publisher.
Standard Objectivity
Reviewers must adhere to the principles of objectivity when assessing manuscripts. Their comments on the manuscript should not be based on personal criticism of the authors. Clear and constructive suggestions must accompany all comments during the assessment process.
