AI Policy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Permitted Uses

  1. AI tools may be used to assist with copy-editing tasks, such as correcting grammar, refining writing style, and adjusting formatting.
  2. AI tools may be employed to support data analysis and interpretation, provided that authors clearly disclose the specific stages in which AI was involved and explain the rationale for its use. This disclosure must appear in both the methods section and the acknowledgements.

Prohibited Uses

  1. AI must not be used to write or generate article content in a way that substitutes for the authors' own intellectual contribution.
  2. Authors must not fabricate (create data, content, or research results that do not exist) or falsify (alter or manipulate data, images, figures, results, or any other content of the article) their work.

Transparency

  1. All data, findings, and analyses reported in the manuscript must be open to scientific verification and reflect responsible, accountable research practices.
  2. If editors or reviewers have concerns regarding the authenticity of a manuscript, authors are required to submit supporting documentation of the writing process, such as raw data, AI usage records, earlier versions of the manuscript, and other materials that demonstrate the originality and intellectual contribution of the authors.

Sanctions for Violations

  1. Any breach of this AI policy will be treated as academic misconduct and may result in withdrawal of the manuscript, rejection for publication, or formal notification to the authors' institution.

Editorial Procedures for Verifying AI Use

  1. The editorial team will check whether authors have explicitly disclosed their use of AI at the time of submission, either through the submission form or within the methods and acknowledgements sections.
  2. The editorial team will evaluate whether the disclosed use of AI is consistent with this policy, i.e., limited to copy-editing or data analysis and not involving the writing of the main manuscript or the fabrication of data.
  3. Where there are doubts about the authenticity of a manuscript or the use of AI, the editorial team reserves the right to request additional documentation from the authors, such as the manuscript revision history, AI usage logs, or raw data, before the manuscript proceeds further.
