Correction and Retraction

Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Published articles are considered final and are not changed after publication, except through the procedures below, which follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Correction
A correction is issued when a significant error is found in a published article that affects part of the content but does not invalidate its findings or conclusions.

  • Erratum: correction of an error introduced by the journal during editing or production.
  • Corrigendum: correction of an error made by the author(s), such as an error in data, a table, a figure, or author information.

Correction requests may be submitted by the author(s) or by readers. The correction notice is published in the next issue, given its own DOI, and linked to the original article. The corrected version of the article is published with a note indicating the date and nature of the correction.

Minor errors that do not affect the scientific content (e.g., typographical errors) are generally not corrected after publication.

2. Expression of Concern
The editor may publish an Expression of Concern when there is serious doubt about the reliability of an article, the author’s institution does not investigate, or an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive. The notice is linked to the article and may be followed by a correction or retraction once the matter is resolved.

3. Retraction
An article will be retracted when:

  • there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, due to misconduct (data fabrication or falsification) or honest major error;
  • the article contains plagiarism;
  • the article has been published previously elsewhere without proper justification (duplicate publication);
  • the article contains material or data used without authorization;
  • the research is unethical or violates the rights of research participants.

Retraction may be requested by the author(s) or initiated by the editor following an investigation under the Allegations of Research Misconduct policy. A retraction notice stating the title, authors, and reason for retraction is published in the next issue and linked to the article. The original article remains accessible, but every page of the PDF is marked “RETRACTED”, and the article’s metadata is updated accordingly.

4. Removal
Articles are removed only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal obligations, defamation, or content that poses a serious risk to health or safety. The title and author metadata remain available, along with a notice explaining the reason for removal.

5. Withdrawal before publication
Authors may withdraw a manuscript before it is published by submitting a written request signed by all authors, stating the reason. Withdrawal after acceptance or during the production process may only be done with the editor’s approval.
